Virginia began painting in grade school and studied Fine Arts at Ohio State University. Her bond with animals began before she can remember. After taking a 20 year hiatus from art, she began painting again in 1999 following the death of her beloved Laborador Retriever, Sophie. Painting a watercolor of Sophie as a memorial, friends who saw the painting convinced Virginia to try painting more animal portraits, and that was the beginning of Petscapes. Virginia lives and paints in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She presently shares her home with 4 cats, a yellow lab named Ella and a spotted dog named Kiko.
